What Are Affiliates?
Affiliate groups are clubs and organizations that are sponsored by the Champaign Park District. Each group is financially self-sustaining, self governing, and over-seen by Champaign Park District staff. Call 217-398-2550 for information.

The Boneyard Creek Cloggers
Organized in the 1980's, the Boneyard Creek Cloggers promote the social, recreational and artistic benefits of clogging, a form of traditional Appalachian dance. The group performs at old-time festivals and other events throughout the state. They meet on Thursday nights at the Springer Cultural Center for weekly recreational dancing, followed by rehearsal for performances. Central Illinois Aerospace (Model Rocket Club)
Model rocket builders and launchers of all ages are invited to join the Champaign Park District's Model Rocket Club. Membership fees are $10 for first family member and $2 for each additional family member per year. Memberships include informational meetings on rocketry, rocket building, workshops, scheduled rocket launches, and many more exciting activities.

Central Illinois English Country Dancers
English Country Dance consists primarily of dances and music from England in the 1600’s and 1700’s. We hold dances at the Springer Cultural Center approximately monthly. In addition we hold a more formal ball twice a year. All of our events are open to anyone who is interested. All dances are taught and there is always live music provided by the Flatland Consort. Partners, costumes, and experience are not required and all lovers of English Country dance and music are welcome. We ask for a nominal admission fee, generally $1 at our monthly dances, slightly more at the balls, to help cover our costs.

C.H.A.D.D. Children And Adults With Attention Deficit Disorder
If you are a parent, educator, or medical professional working with a child with Attention Deficit Disorder or are a teen with ADD, join a network of others just like yourself who understand the challenges of helping individuals with ADD achieve success. C.H.A.D.D. is an invaluable resource and strives to disseminate accurate and helpful information covering the latest developments in ADD research, diagnosis, and treatment.

Champaign County Radio Control Club (CCRCC)
For 30 years the members of CCRCC have been building, flying and promoting radio controlled model airplanes. Radio controlled model flying is a great hobby for kids and adults. If you have an interest in learning to fly model aircraft or are already a competent model pilot you are welcome to join our organization. The club meets the second Monday of the month at the club field during the summer and at Frasca field during the winter. Champaign County Cultural Consortium
The Champaign County Cultural Consortium is a network of cultural resource providers and educational organizations who collaborate in the creation, coordination, and promotion of cultural resource programs for Champaign County Schools. The consortium provides access to arts experiences for all students and educators, fosters communication among cultural resource providers and educators, supports educational resources which strengthen cultural diversity in Champaign County Schools, and promotes the arts as an educational tool.

Champaign Kids Wrestling Club
Our Club belongs to the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation and is a self-supporting, non-profit organization. Coaches and volunteers anxiously await the challenge of helping all young wrestlers from 2nd – 8th grades to develop their wrestling skills and reach their goals. Club members participate in tournaments, dual meets, and a State series. Registration is in mid October with practices starting at the end of November. Call for a flyer and registration information in September. Our season of competition is December – March. This club has provided a well-structured environment for individuals to become great athletes and some of the best wrestlers in our local high schools. High school wrestlers interested in expanding their wrestling skills, call in February for info.

Champaign Ski Club
The Champaign Ski Club is an outdoor sport and social club which puts together as many as 11 ski trips each year. Our trips are planned with the needs of experienced and first time skiers in mind. Families, singles, and students are welcome. Although downhill skiing is the club’s focus, camping, mountain biking, roller blading, white water rafting, canoeing, and various social events are all part of our agenda. The club meets regularly from September - April.

C-U Astronomical Society
Explore the stars and planets with the C-U Astronomical Society, Inc. View the heavens through members' telescopes or use the CUAS Observatory, located southwest of Champaign, and its 16-inch telescope. Membership fee is $15 per year (individual or family) which includes a monthly newsletter.

Midwest Central Model Railroad Club
Join the Midwest Central Railroad Club! This group of rail fans and N-scale model railroaders meets at members’ homes on the first Thursday of each month from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. The club has a modular N-Trak layout that it sets up at local railroad shows a few times each year. If you are interested in prototype railroading or railroad modeling in any scale, come join the fun!

McKinley Toastmasters Club #467
Build self-confidence, learn leadership and practice valuable career skills in the friendly and supportive environment of McKinley Toastmasters International Communication and Leadership Program. Open to individuals 18 and older, it is a dynamic club dedicated to helping members develop speech and leadership skills through the regular practice of public speaking.
Members assume various roles at each meeting and progress at their own rate. Meetings are fast-paced, educational, and fun and are ideal for novice speakers interested in overcoming their fears. The club’s international and diverse membership makes McKinley a great place to meet interesting people who are dedicated to personal growth.
Meetings are held the first four Thursdays of each month from 6:15 – 8:00pm at the Springer Cultural Center. Guests are encouraged to visit. Please call to confirm meeting time and location.

Potters' Club
A cooperative of amateur potters active in Champaign-Urbana since 1969. The Club offers members access to all materials and equipment needed to create pottery and sculpture. Our next kick-off meeting is Wednesday, May 26 at 7 pm at the Springer Cultural Center. All members must attend this first meeting of the new session plus one meeting per month, and are required to serve on a committee. Monthly meeting times will be the 4th Wednesday of the month. Membership is $65 per session. Graduates of Jeffrey Nichols’ classes are offered a one-time discount. Studio tours and demos available upon request.

Prairie Cycle Club
Since 1971 the Prairie Cycle Club (PCC) has served the needs of all types of bicyclists including recreational, touring, long distance riders, commuters, and racers. Individuals and families are welcome. Annual membership is $15 for individuals and $20 for a family (people living at the same residence). Membership includes an extensive year-round ride schedule, monthly newsletter, social and educational activities, special events, bicycle advocacy, and a great way to have fun and meet people while improving your fitness no matter what your experience or ability. Weeknight rides are scheduled from mid-April to mid September. One of the highlights is our annual CU Across the Prairie held in August. Ridgewalkers Walking Club
Like to walk to stay fit? Like to walk with friends? Then, join our walking club! We are a Chapter of the American Volkssport Association (AVA), made up of hundreds of clubs across the U.S. Our noncompetitive walks, usually 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) in length, are held throughout the year in the CU and adjoining areas. We also host two year-round walks that are free and can be walked anytime, starting at: Taffies Restaurant, 301 S. Mattis Ave., C, and the Arcade Restaurant, 132 N. Market St., Paxton. (Just look or ask for the registration box with the trail maps.) Come and check us out at one of our monthly meetings: 2nd Monday of each month, at 7pm at the Phillips Recreation Center, 505 W. Stoughton, Urbana. All ages are welcome and membership is only $10 per year.

Second Wind Running Club
Champaign-Urbana's Second Wind Running Club welcomes runners of all ages and abilities. The club sponsors a number of regular activities including quarterly meetings, social activities, a weekly fun run, and a bi-monthly newsletter. Senior Softball Club
Membership in the Emmerson Dexter Senior Softball Club is open to all players and supporters of senior softball in the C-U area. The Club works with the Champaign Park district to maximize participation of softball players over the age of 50 and to improve and enhance the softball experience for senior players and their families. In addition to working on improvements in Dexter Field, the Club assists the park district with administration of the Worden-Martin Golden Gloves League, sponsors tournaments and all-star games, publishes a newsletter, and provides trophies and awards for teams and individuals, and holds social events.
