Race the Greenspace!  Saturday, April 14th
The Champaign Park District would like to challenge you to form a team and compete in our upcoming Race the Greenspace event!  This event is our version of the Amazing Race and promises to be simply...well...AMAZING!  
Event Details
Race the Greenspace(RTG) is an urban adventure style race that will lead teams on an 8-10 mile course highlighting a top secret list of Champaign Park District parks and facilities. Think of it as the Park District’s version of the Amazing Race! In RTG, teams of 2-4 people solve photo and trivia clues which then lead them to checkpoints where they’ll face mental and/or physical challenges. As you work to solve these clues, you may use smart phones or call smart friends, but it’s up to you to figure out the best order to complete your checkpoints. All members of your team must be assembled before you begin any physical or mental challenge. To navigate between the checkpoints, you may walk, run, bicycle*,skateboard*, roller-blade*, (*helmets required) or use public transportation. Sometimes the fastest way between two checkpoints will be to run or bike, and other times a bus may be the way to go. However, no forms of transportation other than those listed will be allowed – this includes automobiles, taxis, motorcycles, scooters, flying carpets, or private jets. Bike racks are not guaranteed at any of the stops, so be sure you bring your own bike lock and think ahead about bike parking. You choose your own adventure in this race, but expect to cover a total of 8-10 miles during the course of RTG.

Start Location: Olympic Tribute at Dodds Park
Fee: $20 per person.  Teams are at least 2 people and at most 4 people. Register at any Park District location by Friday, March 30 to guarantee your spot and a t-shirt. Register March 31 through April 10 to guarantee your spot, but no t-shirt. There will NOT be on-site registration for this event. Each individual participant must sign a waiver for this event.  No one under the age of 8 is allowed to participate and children ages 8-14 must be accompanied by a registered adult on the same team.
