Volleyball

Adult Spring Volleyball Leagues

Champaign Park District offers Men’s, Women’s, and Co-rec volleyball leagues that are sure to fit your skill level.

At the time of registration, an application and all fees are due. A non-resident fee is built into league fees.  No registrations will be accepted without full payment!  If your team is sponsored, both the manager and your sponsor must complete and sign a sponsor form available (on-line or at Bresnan Meeting Center).  Both signatures must be on the form for it to be valid.  Completed rosters with names, addresses, phone numbers, and signatures will be due the first day of games. Deadline to register is Monday, January 5, 2009

Ages: 15+ years of age
Time: 6:00 – 11:00pm
Location: Leonhard Recreation Center
Fee: $240* per team
*Resident Team Refund: Teams consisting of 60% or more Champaign-Urbana residents will receive $60 refund
Season: 10 matches plus a single elimination tournament

Registration: Fill out an application (click here to download) and get it to Bresnan Meeting Center, 706 Kenwood Road. Registrations are accepted in person, by fax (355-8421), or by mail. Full payment is due at the time of registration. If your team is sponsored, a voucher or letter on the sponsor's letterhead is needed. Completed rosters are due by the first day of games. Rosters will be due on the first day of games. Click here for a roster. Completed rosters (name, address, phone numbers and signatures) will be due the first day of games.
Team Sponsorship Form: If your team is sponsored but you will not have a check ready when you register, please fill out this form.  Both the manager and sponsor must sign this form for it to be valid.  This replaces the old method of a letter on letterhead.
Roster/waiver form
Eligibility: All players must be 15 years or older to play in the adult volleyball leagues. Players may play in more than one league, but no player will be allowed to play on more than one team within the same league.
Teams: All leagues have a 6-on-6 format unless otherwise noted. All 6-on-6 leagues play with a maximum of 6 players on the court; minimum of 4 players. The 4-on-4 league plays with a maximum of 4 players; minimum of 3 players. Additional players many be rotated in to play. Women’s teams must consist of all women. Men's teams may have as many women on their roster as they choose, but only
2 women may play on the court at one time and Men MUST outnumber women on the court at all times. (A team can't play with 2 men and 2 women but must have 3 men to play with 2 women on the court.) Coed teams must have no more than three and no less than two of either sex on the court at a time.
Awards: T-shirts will be give to the top team in each league for winning the regular season. An award for the winner of the tournament is yet to be determined.
Schedules/Standings: Teams will play at 10-match schedule with a single elimination post season tournament. Schedules and rules will be mailed to managers before games start.

Junior Volleyball League - (December through March, See the Fall/Winter Funformation Guide for exact dates).

The junior volleyball league emphasizes participation and instruction. Players learn rules, strategies, skills, sportsmanship and fun. Teams practice on Sunday afternoons with games on Monday evenings. All practices and games will be held at the Leonhard Recreation Center.
